22+ years of clinical experience. Two continents. One mission: making the science of food accessible to everyone.

Licensed Pharmacist · 22+ Years Clinical Experience
I've been a pharmacist for over 22 years — 15 of those in U.S. long-term care, and 7 in retail pharmacy in Ghana. In that time, I've dispensed thousands of prescriptions, managed complex medication regimens for elderly patients with 10+ chronic conditions, counseled patients on drug-food interactions every single day, and watched what happens when nutrition is treated as an afterthought in healthcare.
And here's the pattern I kept seeing: the patients who ate well did better. Not sometimes — consistently. Even when they were on the same medications, the same doses, the same treatment plans. The ones who understood how food interacted with their body and their drugs had fewer hospitalizations, fewer side effects, and a better quality of life.
That pattern is why I built Your Food Your Medicine. Because what you eat isn't separate from your healthcare — it IS healthcare. And someone with a pharmacist's understanding of how substances are absorbed, metabolized, and eliminated by the body is uniquely qualified to explain that connection.

I started my pharmacy career in Ghana, where I spent 7 years in retail pharmacy. This is where I first saw the intersection of traditional food remedies and modern medicine. Patients would come in using herbal preparations alongside prescription drugs, and nobody was checking for interactions. That experience shaped everything that came after — and gave me a perspective on food as medicine that most Western pharmacists simply don't have.
I moved to the U.S. and spent the next 15 years in long-term care pharmacy — the most demanding, most detail-oriented corner of the profession. Managing medications for elderly patients with multiple chronic conditions taught me that drug-food interactions aren't academic exercises. They're the difference between a patient who thrives and one who declines. I've caught interactions that were actively harming patients — interactions that had been going on for months before anyone noticed.
I opened Heavenly Joy Senior Care, a licensed Adult Family Home, because I wanted to apply everything I'd learned about medication management and nutrition to the most vulnerable population — seniors who need both excellent care and excellent food. I also launched Precision Med Consulting to help other AFH operators get their medication management right.
This site is where all of it comes together. 22 years of watching food and medication interact inside real human bodies, distilled into guides, tools, and resources that anyone can use. No gatekeeping, no medical jargon, no fads — just a pharmacist sharing what the science actually says about the food on your plate.
To make pharmacist-grade nutrition science accessible to everyone. Not through prescriptions, but through the food you already eat — explained in language that doesn't require a pharmacy degree to understand.
There are thousands of nutrition websites. Here's why this one exists alongside them:
Drug-food interactions are my specialty. No food blogger can tell you what happens when your grapefruit juice meets your statin, or why your leafy green intake matters when you're on warfarin. I can — because I've been counseling patients on this for over two decades.
I think in pharmacokinetics. Pharmacists study how substances are absorbed, distributed, metabolized, and eliminated by the body. That training applies to food compounds in exactly the same way it applies to drugs. I can tell you not just what to eat, but how to eat it so your body actually uses it.
Every claim is evidence-based. I spent my career reading clinical studies to make medication decisions. I bring the same rigor to nutrition. If I cite a stat, there's a published study behind it. If I recommend a food, there's clinical evidence supporting it.
I have a global perspective. My years in Ghana gave me insight into traditional food remedies, herbal medicine interactions, and nutritional approaches that most pharmacists in the U.S. have never encountered. That breadth makes this site richer and more inclusive.
